Anyone done this, and how to approach a freind about what you now know or wether to keep quiet, or to point him at Google.
Sorry its nothing criminal he has done, so cant sell the story to the rags.

Did you spell the name correctly ๐
Ps spill the beans 8)

Ooo, the suspense.
You google your friends = stalker
Oh come now, anyone who hasn't yped their exes' names into Goggle and Facebook once in their life isn't normal. In my case I couldn't be bothered to hunt though the hundreds of possibilities except for one who has a unique name and that confirmed I'd made some good decisions.
Nah, never Educator...But thanks for sharing.... ๐
try 123people for some proper stalking potential LOL
I couldn't be bothered to hunt though the hundreds of [s]possibilities[/s] exes[s]cept for one who has a unique name and that confirmed I'd made some good decisions[/s].

when I googled my name I got a 16th century martyr
i never realised how much you had put it about Edukator. if there are hundreds why not limit it to the last few years ?
I googled my ex in December and found her obituary, was a bit of a shock.
Just tried it - bit disturbed that typing my name into google puts me on the front page!
(with a picture which is even more disturbing...)
Rachel
I'm more and more anonymous. I used to be one of the first Google images, now I'm on page 21 even with the safe search turned off.
The young parisienne I thought had the potential to change the earth's orbit is a single mother in Australia.
you are not a friend. have a chat with mate about new stuff.
i just google my name for the first time in google images. none of me after looking through 60 or so pages. there is however a picture of my bike on page 1. ๐
I spent seven years trying to track down a friend that I'd lost contact with before Google suddenly produced a hit on her page on a folk band's website, which was a nice surprise. Some nice photos of her too, which was also a surprise; she was terribly camera-shy around me when we were together.
The only time I googled my own name the first 2 entries made me either a wealthy U.S. businessman that seems to own half a town or a porn star. To this day, I've not been able to decide which I prefer.
Can't say I'e ever bothered doing the same for friends or exes.
I think there's only 2 folk with my name in the UK, so no surprise that I'm all over Google.
When I googled my wife's name it turned out she actually died in 1769 and was married to someone else
Least it explained the lack of bedroom activity! ๐
Apparantly, I'm an artist.
you are not a friend. have a chat with mate about new stuff.
absolutely..
if you were really a friend rather than an aquaintance you'd be talking to them instead of us..
Most of the first page of web and image hits is me. I do have a fairly unusual name, and I suppose quite a lot of web coverage!
I'm a coloured chap who plays American football rather well...

The thing is it does raise a moral dilema for a lot of people especially for employers and employees, as well as freinds and aqauntances.
Theres so much info available now for free or paid on the net, some true and some not quite true.Comapnies use face book and freinds reunited before recruiting staff, and surely peeps use the same socail networking to find freinds and lovers, or am i wrong.
I myself prefer face to face contact.
putting my screen name into google images is an interesting summary of most of the things that I hold dear within the first few pages... including Calsberg Special Brew.. a baby Aardvark.. various knackered bikes.. some funky footwear.. a couple of shots of Dartmoor singletrack.. Bob Marley.. some guerilla crochet.. a yurt.. colonel Gadaffietc.. etc etc etc etc
wow.. I can only deduce that I spend far too much time posting links to images on STW.. ๐ฏ
If i google myself i find i'm the head of the British Olympics!
Don't want to look up exes, it was painful enough at the time. The only ex i'm interested in is the lady who is A) no longer an ex and B)upstairs in my bed ๐
I am a doctor! And I am in Florida doing stuff with boobs etc ๐
I like the new me!
I've just googled my name, top 4 hits are me ๐
2nd one is some quite embarassing pics from a Gorrick race back in 2001, other 3 are much better.
I try and remember names of people I went to school with, then google them.strange to look at different people you knew 20-30ys ago.
I've aged better than all of them.obviously.
The other me is the Aussie rules footy CEO - I've worked hard to ensure I beat him on most web searches ๐
nope
Checked again. I'm still a horse. ๐
I googled an art project I'd done and the national gallery that had commissioned the piece credited the work not to me, but to potty mouthed celeb chef Gordon Ramsay.
Is he Bikerfox ? ๐ฏ
Just googled my gf and she came out top of the list! Did the same for google images and it was a picture I d taken-from bookface I hasten to add!
I checked my own name, and somebody in NZ is using my picture on their facebook!!
Wow, how perceptive of me.
Wow how perceptive of you ๐
Googling myself returns nothing, but my mate's alter ego is a gay porn actor of some note, starring in such gems as 'Socket', 'The Gay B&B of Terror' and most recently 'Pride'.
I'm the all of top results for my name. As a teacher, this used to worry me so I tried to be more anonymous but students still found me.
Then I realised that as long as I behave the same online as I would while out in public, it didn't matter if my students saw what I was doing.
