Very disappointed so far and many of these I wouldn't call 'Goth'.

I remain in a continued state of confusion as to what goth is. I get the dressing like Paradise Lost and all that, but I can't find any coherent musical theme.

Help me to understand!

Cult were on earlier.

Action plan for tomorrow is to research and fill in the pjharvey back catalogue.

Secretary at my old place once bought a pair of glasses because Marilyn told her to in a dream.

Is that goth? Very confused. Just sounds like a load of pop music with a carefully curated style aesthetic.

Ressurection from the cult then a bit of andi sex gang and the sex gang children, a lot of not proper 80's goth and some good 90's indie stuff

Came across as a Goth TOTP2, with the silly captions. Specimen certainly took the dressing up seriously eh? ๐Ÿ™‚

My favourite goth on telly was The Mission on The Tube.
It just captured the excitement of the era.
Goth saved me from pub rock.

I wouldn't have included Nick Cave or Polly in a "Goth" show, but they were clearly the class of the field.

Red Right Hand could have been a week old, a year old, 20 years old.. a proper classic.

There were a few I wouldn't have put down as goth, Nick Cave certainly wasn't one of them tho. Nick Cave/The Birthday Party were very much at the forefront of the Goth scene in the 80's. Bearing in mind this was a BBC production, I guess that clip might have been the first/only BBC archive they had of him, I'd have been surprised if he wasn't included.

Any of you goths frequent the Batcave club in soho back in the 80's?, my mate Hamish used to be the resident DJ, if so then i guess you also bopped along to his band Sex Beat.
