Tom Jones

Is he the only 60s survivor still recording with credibility and popularity?

Tom Jones and credibility?

It's not often I disagree with you, but that is stretching it a bit.

Have you heard stuff he has recorded in the last ten years? Listening to a bit of classic rock and roll and blues recorded with Jules Holland in 2004.

Loads of folk want to record with him.

anyway - and other 60s survivors still recording anything worth listening to?

The last time I saw him he seemed to be trying to tread the Johnny Cash path...sing a few sombre songs.

I reckon he lost it when he did Kiss with the AON.

South Wales' finest Nation radio threw 'She Bangs The Drums-The Stone Roses' at me this afternoon. Very cool for finishing work on a Friday. Then the ipod shuffled out 'Used To Be-The Violent Femmes' as I walked to the shop and the sun came back out

Rich, it's pretty good, a little more subdued than their earlier albums. Only had chance to listen to it once, so I think it'll take a while for the songs to really take shape. Love Stars, but then I just love Canadian bands anyway. Looking forward to Arcade Fire's new one, and going to see Stars and Wolf Parade in September.
