I did think it weird that no nurses/ docs were interested in my damaged ribs...

Will chat at QA (spit) tomorrow.

After he finished the very long list of things he wasn't allowed to do any more (ribs protect your essential organs from damage but they also kind of hold stuff 'in') I was too depressed to ask.  Lost touch with him know unfortunately so I'll never know.  Thankfully.

Take it easy.

I don’t want to be forced to listen to questionable post-punk albums

Dez also rode into a tree , at speed. Broke his neck , then rode home like you do with a broken neck .

Dez also chinned a skinny  Northshore log annd launghed it off.

Dez is proper hard . Falling off as WCA transplanted his knackered leg onto him vicariously wont stop him ,no siree.

Feel absolutely fine (except maybe a cold coming on).

Not to worry you. But a colleague had a similar  "weird" incident where he dropped his pint in the pub. Shrugged it off as a pint too many.

Woke up with "a bad cold" (a bit slow and talking like his nose was blocked) and came into work, we drove him straight to the Dr's who bundled him into an ambulance.

Within a couple of months he was in a hospice and hasn't gotten out of bed unaided since with pretty much every bodily function done through a tube. Turned out to be a tumor.

Don't eff about.

Similar thing happened to my mum a couple of years ago, no pint involved though. She started to shuffle a bit when walking, seemed to be getting forgetful and had a"cold" which lingered for weeks. When she put a pork joint in the oven with its wrapping still on and set fire to it, I took her to AE thinking TIA. Turned out to be a tumour and she was gone within a week.

Crikey, this has taken a bit of a dark turn!  Is anyone local and able to go and see if Dez is still with us?

Our FD at work was a bit under the weather for a while, headaches and brain fog, thought it was 'flu... then one day a few weeks ago she wasn't in work and on contacting her husband he said he hadn't been able to rouse her... off work for a couple more weeks and then we find out she had a brain tumour and died at the weekend.

In short - don't mess about if your brain seems to be acting up! You may not have time to put off going to the doctor about it...

Are you on EPO?  Be honest now.

You realise you now have the dubious accolade of being a forumite who has to post something every few hours otherwise we'll all think you're dead.

You should have taken a book to read.

Not a long one, obviously.

Yeah, QA - most  of it was really quick and efficient, weirdly enough!

So the "verdict" is in, suspected TIA - they have to treat it as that cos it's the most likely explanation. Got a weird heartbeat going on, so have some drugs for that and stuff. Can't drive for a month, but apart from that no other precautions need to be taken. So you can be fit and eat healthy and still your body will randomly **** up on you. What a laugh.

Good thing is, I suppose, that I feel just fine, so I'll be riding and reffing and stuff like normal.

Amazing support from you lot on here - thanks so much for all the advice and laughs and that (only saw STM's post today, brilliant 😆 - but he's right, it ain't gonna stop me!) So thanks all. Big group hug (not too tight though).

Off to play "Is This It" 😀

Dez

Did you get a finger.....

Seems like maybe you need a new doctor (dentist?) if that is a regular diagnostic test for yours.  Mental image of Joey Tribianni's family tailor from "Friends"

That is is very very good news 👍👍💪

I was all “QA/hospitals” are rubbish n all, but actually the QA is a pretty damn fine place to be all ill n stuff.

Does this mean no “jingly jangly” music for a while? 🤣

Thats gonna hurts more right 🤪

Have a search for "The Fittest bodies in the Morgue", basically lots of (very well) hidden conditions that can strike anyone.

Nah. too heavy 😉

Minor update - ref’ed the under 14s this morning, everything worked as it should, solid hour of sprinting, dodging and whistle blowing (in the literal sense). The dicky ticker coped just fine. And the match was a draw 🙂

Did you get a finger rammed

That's only available through private medicine with a TIA, so I'm told!
