-working.
-trying to calculate how much the public holiday has cost our nhs trust (in real money, extra day's leave for everyone and non-delivery of non-urgent services) in these times of great economic austerity. Paper napkin calculation so far is about half a million for a small-to medium primary care trust. God knows what it would be for a large acute/general hospital.

the roads will be packed with people taking advantage of the fact that the roads will be empty

the hills will be packed with people taking advantage of the fact that the hills will be empty

the beaches will be packed with people taking advantage of the fact that the beaches will be empty

London will be packed with journalists, and a few royals

I'll be enjoying yet another day with no chance of earning a crust. The joys of self-employment. I'll probably have a beer and a bikeride, not neccessarily in that order

I'm off to hAmsterdam on a stag do - biggest ****ing cliche ever 🙁

I am however hoping to sample some drugs for the first time in years, and perhaps indulge some mildly submissive fantasies with shemales...though, it's not so long since the last time.

dd - for a truly tacky horrible experience I can highly recommend watching a show at the Casa Rosa while off your nuts. Just dont volunteer to get up on stage if she's brandishing a dildo mounted on a headband,.,..

I'll be outside the gates of Bucking Palace waiting for the happy couple to wavy at us.
Events like this don't happen very often you know.

[img] [/img]

Of course the day will be tinged with sadness, with the realisation that the Queen's Mum (God rest her soul) won't be there to witness the majestic occasion 😐

No real plans, finish off some DIY, painting, service the bikes for the weekend. I'm not going to actively avoid things royal or wedding but equally I won't go out of my way to see it 0 I'm just not bothered. My GF is off on my sister's hen do so I have 3 days of riding planned. A fourth may well kill me.

In the morning, I will awake in either a bothy or a tent depending on Thursday's weather, then walk through the mountains, out of mobile and TV reception, ensuring my complete avoidance of the event. Can't wait!

Just can't get into That Wedding. Normally I enjoy all the pomp but this leaves me cold. I miss Diana. 🙁

emsz, I reckon that's Three Cliffs Bay. I've camped on that very site. The Gower is a peninsula near Swansea. "Area of outstanding natural beauty" is an understatement. TCB is one of countless stunning spots.

DD is correct emsz - it's Three Cliffs Bay, Penmaen, South wales. Not been before, but heard it's fantastic and the pics would tend to back that up - Google it and there are loads similar. It would be just our luck that this fantastic weather wont be replicated though.

I've posted it before, but we'll be off here early June too - Castlerigg Hall, Keswick - overlooking Derwent Water.

Wife is watching the tv from the start 08:00 I have been warned no mtb films all day unless in another room on my laptop.

I would love to have been going on my bike but a broken collar bone is holding up play.

I hope you enjoy your rides and I will think of you as I drink real ale at my local CAMRA award winning pub.

I had planned a lap of Penmachno, but I've spent the last two days either in bed sweating or on the loo, so I think it's unlikely to happen unless I have an overnight recovery 🙁

Another for SSEC 2011. Have cheese, bike and tent. Just need to resist the urge to nibble at the cheese beforehand.

Mrs knows we are packing next to nothing so I can squeeze in the usual serious amounts of beer for the return journey.
