Does SA automatically win and get the 3 points?

(apologies if this question has been asked)

You would assume so, but I doubt they will. If they do they should be banned from the next World Cup..

Would be good to see SA get through and I hope the other game is not a draw.

I don't think they will all boycott it though will they? I thought it was just certain players? I would assume the points would automatically go to SA if they did.

But I definitely agree that they should be automatically excluded from the next World Cup AND Euro Championships.

And - at least this farce will be what everyone remembers from this WC and not England's sad demise... ๐Ÿ™

However bad things may be for England, we are handling it a LOT better than the French. Respect where it's due.

they should be penalised at the very least for their mutiny and if they boycott their next game, i thought they automatically get disqualified and their opponent gets the points anyway?

If a team doesn't turn up, I think the opposition are awarded an automatic 2-0 or 3-0 win and 3 points.

May I draw your attention to, article six, paragraph eight, of the governing body's regulations. It says that if one team does not report for a match, it shall be considered as having lost and the three points shall be awarded to their opponents with a score of 3-0.

3-0 Win and 3 points - exclusion from the rest of the competition and liable for 'damages or losses suffered by the other association(s) and FIFA'.

I really would piss myself if they don't turn up at all. (Unlike England who haven't been turning up metaphorically).

Who gets the points if someone boycotts a match metaphorically?

Demise, demise, what demise??????

That suggests that England were good at some point in the rose tinted past. They have been sh!t all my lifetime, and I was born in 1967....

The talking heads were on the box (last night??) going on about what a strange WC with disappointments for France, Italy, Germany and England... - I nearly spat out my tea over the table at the inclusion of England in the same sentence. Deluded or what?

metaphysically speaking it is a score draw to the opposition

I think that the disappointment is relative to each team.
If England failed to get through what is one of the easier groups at this world cup, then that would be considered a disappointment.

Me too - August 23. Surely we must be due a WC win in our lifetime?

And the demise I was referring to was the demise in this particular competition - I totally agree we have always been useless when it has mattered. ๐Ÿ™

I was listening to talksport yesterday about this, they asked Geoff Winter what would happen if France started firing the ball into their own goal, he said under the rules of the game there is absoulutely nothing you can do about it, unless it is suspected the serious match fixing associated with gambling is the cause, which as we know with the French isn't

For someone who professes to hate football so much Mr Woppit, you seem to spend a lot of time lurking around football related threads. You love it really, don't you? ๐Ÿ˜‰

So have we established that the French basically have boycotted this game, in that they've turned up in body but not spirit?
