My old Samsung FM only radio has bitten the dust so I'm looking for a replacement but this time I'd like to try DAB. I need one that is as small as possible so I can slip it into my cycle jacket pocket and it needs to robust enough to cope with getting a bit sweaty. I've had a look at the Pure Move 2500 and that is just about small enough but I'd like something smaller. Any ideas for a touch screen only unit would be welcome.

I think you'll find the Pure is as small as a DAB is going to get. Battery hungry, and it needs a good antenna, although they do use the headphone lead. Of course, there are smartphone apps that will do the same, but they'll annihilate your data allowance! There used to be DAD adaptors that fitted into an iPod dock, but they just add bulk.

I have a Sony XDR-M1 portable DAB radio which I bought about four years ago.

It runs off AA batteries and is ok in strong signal areas but sketchy otherwise. It does tend to eat batteries as well.

I have been looking to replace it but have not found anything that seems much better.

I might try using a smart phone app on Three's "All you can eat" data tariff instead.

Tesco do one for £30 that will run on rechargeable AAAs. Much better than the Cowan one I bought for four times the price.

Ive got one of these:

£25 and only slightly bigger than 2xAAA bateries. Superb little personal DAB radio.
