Great game, clearly not a peno and just the Europeans left in the tournament. Really could go any way and given how topsy turvy its been so far, Russia could do a Greece.

is that a poke in the eye?

Hand flat, nothing more than that. Do the soft buggers north of the border give penalties for that?

A foul is an unfair act by a player, deemed by the referee to contravene the game's laws, that interferes with the active play of the game.

inside the box, penalty shout, yes I do(you know the important bits.). (that doesn't contravene anything I said a couple of pages ago.)

Are you under the impression I'm defending neymars diving? I'm not, he clearly kicked out earlier to con a foul. should have been yellow carded.

Anyone else excited now rather than just resigned?

I was wondering earlier which country had the most neighbours at the world cup. My first guess was France but I reckon it's Germany, with Poland, France, Belgium, Italy, Denmark and Switzerland.

Looking forward to it without the usual dread that it will be a failure if we go out at this stage. If everything clicks, then this team can be pretty decent.

Italy

🤔

Anyway, truly envy you guys - I’ve only felt this once in my life as we prepared to be dumped out by Italy in 1990. It had been a glorious first WC for the Irish.

Really hope for all my England supporting mates and the contributors here that they do it today. I just can’t get emotionally invested in it.

Predictions ?

Swe 1-0 Eng

Sorry lads but I think Sweden has this one wrapped up.

However if you look at my previous predictions you’ll see a pattern of being not very accurate.

All I say is best of luck lads, enjoy the game.

I've stuck on an england croatia double, sorry lads, you're now jinxed(well 50:50 chance of the jinx falling on one of the teams.)! 😆

Good luck though!

Sterling looking like the key here, though I think he has been running like he knows he has 60mins

England shaking the nerves off a little here

No one wants to chance a through ball, all a bit scared of losing possession I think. Bit like later Wenger sides.

Nice goal though!

It's not easy for Lingard and Sterling having to make up for Ali's absence.

How come the other England forwards standing around when someone breaks forward, instead of going with them into the box?

Well he has been doing a lot off the ball and deep, I expect to see him off at 60, Rashford and RLC on but they have to have an eye on somebody blowing up after the long game. Needs a second.

Get Sterling off and get Rashford on. He looks like a rabbit in the headlights in front of goal! What is the point of getting yourself into those positions when there is never ever an end result?

we look far too lightweight in midfield, especially carrying a passenger.

Same old, same old. Stirling's caused problems but his lack of finishing ability is shocking. Alli is a waste of space. This team is a couple of clinical attackers away from being very good, but they don't have anyone who can finish. Has Kane touched the ball? I don't remember it if he has.

Still not fond of either Alli or Lingard. Sterling at least is a bit more direct and likely to draw defenders away from the likes of Kane.
