Is wanting a slimmer wallet a real thing? If so what are the chances that my wife will believe me when I bring a new bike home and use the excuse [i]I bought it because I wanted a slimmer wallet[/i]?

Yes ,I don't use a man bag and it's not the shape of bulge I want in my pocket 🙂
Coins get dumped asap and I can manage with something not much bigger than one of these..
