Looking online for a new sleeping bag

I'm 6'2" and was wondering what minimum length of bag I should be looking for?

I presume I need a bit of wiggling room but not too much?

It all depends on what type of bag you're going for. Is it a regular rectangular bag, or the proper 'mummy' type bag, in which case it's supposed to go right over the top of your head like a hood, leaving your face free.

Normally they come in standard and extra long flavours I think. They will suggest how long you have to be to warrant extra long. Extra wide ones are also available.

Looking at mummy bags but most don't seem to do different sizes

They just have the length in cm.

As I'm 189cm tall do you think 220cm would be enough?

Probably. I'm 5'11 and always have plenty of room in normal bags. You want your feet to be in the nice warm toe box after all, not half way up the bag.

Alpkit have a section on bag sizing in their Buying Guide

I've got a Skyehigh 600 in regular and I'm 6'1. Fit is spot on.

220cm will be well long enough for you. You are within 'normal' sleeping bag sizes.
