I've read all the recent sleeping bag threads but now need to buy one and want a bargain!

Any decent offers currently out there 3 seasonish??

Lamina 35 is my current bag. I've always used down in the past but the Lamina insulation is really good (weight/warmth) and I've fewer worries about getting it damp. Plus, it's a lot easier to clean (dirty down loses a lot of its insulation power). I have a Lamina 0 for the winter months too.

Rather depends what you call a bargain ?

Last weekend I bought Higear Summit 350 from Go Outdoors, £50.00
Rated to -5.2 degrees comfort. -12 degrees limit.

Dunno if tesco still do the £40 down bag? Been using one for two years and it's been very good

The Vango Horizon from my PSA ^^ mentioned above is the one I've just bought two of. It says it's good for a 195cm long personage. I'm 5'10", and I can easily disappear below the collar, so to speak. I reckon at 6'2" you'd be well accommodated.

Is packed size and weight important to you? If not, buy a cheap sleeping bag. It's the search for, and development of, lightweight, compact, warm materials that adds to the cost.

Down bags are far lighter than synthetic but they tend to smell and if they get wet they are ****** they also need storing properly.

That is an astonishing price for a down bag what rating and weight was it?

[EDIT] I have used this bag for last few years and it is great for all British conditions. http://www.macpac.co.nz/latitude-700-standard-size.html

Clobber, the label says 'chest width 90cm', I'm pretty normal sized and it's ample for me.
