Looking to get a 3season synthetic bag, bit paranoid about down getting damp. What is the difference between, for example, a £140 rab ignition 3 ( or mountain hardware lamina z flame ) and a £45 vango 350? Thanks

£95? Joking aside, the quality of materials, temperature range, pack size and weight mainly. Brand name is a factor also, so you will pay for that with the Rab, whereas Vango would be considered less of a brand name. Take a look at Snugpak sleeping bags for decent synthetic bags if you haven't already.
£45 vango 350?
It would help to know which vango.
I bought a 2 season synthetic bag, for an extended trip to Africa, from a mate in the trade. I went into his shop for advice. I picked up bag that looked cheap but colourful and with good loft and said I assume this would do.
He laughed and said. "Firstly look at how long the stitches are that won't last the trip. Secondly the loft come from lacquering cheap fibres. It looks great in the shop but after a few uses the lacquer cracks off the fibres and the loft goes. So I spent more money....."
Depends what you plan on using it for. Vango are ok for general camping. I wouldn't write them off.
Thanks for the replies. The vango was a 350. I looked at the chrysalis 3 but it didn't get great reviews, any other suggestions?
There are lots of Vango 350s - Ultralite, Nitestar etc. In general, cheaper means heavier and/or not as warm. If you're camping out in colder weather then a sleeping bag is one thing you don't want to skimp on.
