Looking forward to this, I think Daniel Craig is a great Bond, comes across a right hard bastard.

Javier Bardem as the baddy Naomie Harris as the love interest (damn that girl is gorgeous) Ralph Fiennes and a new Q whats not to get excited about ๐Ÿ˜€

I had a mooch around the big outdoor tank set at pinewood, a set designer friend had to get thousands of Chinese lanterns made for the nighttime dragon/water scene.
Roger deakins and Sam mendes are top notch so hopefully it's going to be a good film.

A colleague was the fire engineer on this when they were filming on the Tube. He was pretty impressed, and then did the new F&F film - he was enormously impressed with the fighting scenes.

I hope they can afford a stand for the camera this time.

QoS looked like a 'my first camcorder' test tape.

Craig seems to be the only Bond who has read the books.

I think he read them after Dalton finished with them. The best Bonds by far. Looking forward to this film.

It's interesting to me, being a bond fan as a kid during the Connery and Moore years, that Bond is now seen as a hardman..
Even as a kid I could see that he was a slightly camp, suave conman, surviving by luck and instinct rather than by being tough..

I haven't watched any thing in the series post Connery and Moore, so has the character evolved and developed smoothly into a figure more palatable for a generation that glorifies violence..? Or was there a revelatory film/moment/actor..?

The character in Fleming's books is more of a thug. Craig's portrayal is the closest to that original intent.

Modern bond isn't cheesy, he has moved with the times, no longer slapping women or making people cringe like the Bond of old. Craig is close to the Bond in the books too.

Bond in the books was actually a bit of a bastard, because of what happened in Casino Royal, they've set the craig character up accordingly with the reboot. Dalton was great... shame he only did two.

I think Craig should be a great bond, but the first two films with him have been hugely disappointing, the scriptwriting has been appalling, they really haven't got the best out of his portrayal.
