Rupert's going to be displeased with the government. What it will do for TV and news media could be interesting/scary/good*.

Yeah, I was wondering about how this might affect Sky programming, but one has to balance that against Sky no longer being owned by the execrable Murdock and his brood.

Murdoch makes a tidy profit from the sale. Would have cost him initially to buy it but he's selling his holdings to Disney anyway who would have taken over control. Either way he walks away with more money. Just he's not in control, nor are Disney going to be.

Funny thing is Comcast have been losing cable customers who don't want to pay for outdated expensive TV contracts and are switching to Netflix and Amazon, yet are buying a company who's in much the same position.
