Okay, okay - I had a little flounce a couple of months back.

I'd been drinking McEwan's Champion Ale without realising it's a stonking 7.3%. Hence a little over sensitive regarding comments about Dale Winton's passing.

Apologies for calling people dicks.

Anyway - Sinn watches. Any proponents on here? Are they good quality and reliable?

Well I bloody hope so as I've just ordered a 240 ST!

Got a three week wait but at least I know it'll be factory fresh.

I believe they rate them quite highly over on Pistonheads, check out their watch forum to see.

I like the look, efficient and uncluttered

I don't have a Sinn although I am a watch fan and spend plenty of time researching (almost as much as bikes)! They are indeed highly regarded, have a good cult following and seem to hold their values quite well for a non-Swiss manufacturer.

Enjoy.

Passable, but not as good as a Casio F91w.  Probably.

Anyway, while we're willy waving about watch purchases, I'm expecting the postie to drop this bad boy off today!

Sinn are great, very well made and reliable. A great mid-tier workhorse brand.

ooh i was looking to buy a Sinn Frankfurt the other week but the model i wanted has been discontinued.  I ended up with a much more sensible custom seiko 5 for my daily watch

Not from Page & Cooper I hope?

if so you might find your three weeks a touch optimistic.

Not quite, but close enough General Napier.

Do they do a feign (sic) model?

Seems I was wrong, you are in fact Catherine Winkworth. Never knew that before.

Nice watches those sinn. Looked at a couple before getting my seamaster. If it was swiss it would be worth double imo

I had a Sinn Finance District for a while. Very good build quality but went back for repair as running fast. Then it never seemed to keep wound despite wearing it every day (albeit doing a desk job) sold it after 4 years for half it's it'ue and got an Elliot Brown Canford, 1/4 of the price but it suits me much better.

I've got an 857, which I like, a lot. Got loads of compliments and queries about it more than any other watch I own. Rolex, Longines, vintage divers.

But, oddly enough did have some issues with its self winding, like yir man above.

Mine went back 3 times before they changed the movement.

Pissed me off at the time, but I still use it as my daily wearer.

Superb tool watch, get one

Someone at work has one. Had to go back after purchase as the hands were rubbing on the crystal. Got sorted and seems to have been fine since. Seemed a bit of a weird quality control issue though. Think his is made out of bits of old submarine or something.

I've always fancied a 556A although I'm not sure I could live with the date window where it is and would much prefer it with no date. There are a few sellers on eBay who do seiko based sinn lookalikes which look ok for a daily beater .

I have a 556 which I’ve had for 7 or so years. The AR is amazing.
