Over that last 3 weeks i have had periods where i have felt really ill. I have had really cold hands and feet, shivering and a lack of ability to warm up, aching joints and mucles, headache, lack of coordination, no sign of a high temperature or any other cold symptoms. I think it might be low blood sugar as it all goes away when I eat something sugary.

This has started to concern me as this morning I almost didn’t go to work as I was up at 5 shivering and unable to sleep and when I did get up I really didn’t think I would be safe driving but ate breakfast and felt loads better.

Should I be concerned about this or is it my body telling me to eat more?
P.S. i have been on a diet since Christmas (I have eaten enough energy before riding) but have never eaten less than 1500Cal a day and have lost some but not a worrying amount of weight.

Go and see your doctor.

Failing that, go to a pharmacy and buy yourself a blood sugar testing kit, they're about £10 or so and will come with instructions on how to use it.

FFS use your head.

i have been on a diet

might be low blood sugar

well the first thing to do is to eat normally for a few days. Fad diet?

Then go bother your GP if it persists

1500 calories is not very much. early mornings are prime time for a hypo. Try upping your calorie intake with something sensible late at night, a bowl of porridge for example. Its not going to drastically affect your diet, but might stop you dying.

All have been doing is slightly reducing my calorie intake. In reality I have changed very little. No junk food and balanced meals.

I should be able to eat 250-500 Cal less a day without feeling like this. I have dieted more strictly before and had none of this.

Edit, 1500 is the minimum i have eaten, normaly 1700-2000. Much more if i am riding but has been days since i have done any exersice and have eaten almost 2000 cal each day and still feel rubbish
