Maybe a bit of a odd one.
We're mid loft conversation which will create an additional bedroom and the much needed second bathroom. We're trying to choose a shower and my wife is really keen on one with a digital display for the temperature, she likes the certainty of shower temp (perceived or real). However, these all seem to be smart showers, requiring WiFi, Bluetooth and the control units can't be mounted in the wall which means putting it in the evers and lots of extra plumbing/electrical work. Also, neither of us are fussed about being able to control the shower from out phones, it's something else to go wrong.
Does anyone know of a regular mixer shower with an electric control unit. Ideally one that can be mounted at the opposite end of the shower to shower head?
Any help gratefully received!
Electric shower or one off the combi? If the former just get a thermostatically controlled shower, should adjust the temperature automatically to keep it constant although even these type of showers take time to adjust to changes in flow.
Not what you asked for but how about a digital thermometer inline with the shower hose? I don't have one of these and have never used one but they exist...

Sod that!!
And there's no certainty in shower temps!! Like toasters they have a mind of their own!ย
Thanks all, I am inclined to agree. I'm all for some things being smart and phone controllable albeit that seems to lead to problems (Sonos I'm looking at you!) but my shower isn't one of them.
I think this is a non-issue and the lack of suitable shower will prove it. Turn shower on, if too hot turn it down, or vice versa!
Surely the digital temp display is only going to show you what your skin can tell you.
Looks like another thing to go wrong.....
Especially when the manufacturer doesn't keep the app updated and you find you can no longer change the temp on your "smart" shower.
I've currently got a pretty old Mira Platinum which has been solid. The mixer/pump unit is installed in a built in cupboard so it's out of the way. Going to replace it with a new one as the whole bathroom is being refitted. So that would have wifi/bluetooth for comms to the dedicated remote.
I do like being able to run the shower to hot without being in it, as current remote lives on the windowsill. Don't think I'm very likely to switch it on using the app, but it does do monitoring of water usage and instead of shouting at my teenager to stop using all the hot water, I can just turn it off ๐
