Taken the wrong pills this morning? If you start getting a tender chest you have your answer...

You can do, yes. Nothing wrong with it. You have genes to pass on just like your partner does.

And what's with the should men or women do this or that? Feel the way you feel.. your gender has nothing to do with it!

You have genes to pass on

Precisely - and that is why, in general, men go throwing their 'wild oats' around as young men - it is just human nature to try to spread your seed wide and far.

Watch this last night on the same kind of subject. Its about dads/ dads to be and the hormonal changes they go through... Who'd of thunk it.

😯

Offer withdrawn of introducing you to my daughter Southern Yeti! Don't wanna be a grannie anytime soon. 👿

Honest answer - dunno. Never felt broody which I guess makes me unusual as a woman.

This obviously doesn't answer your question, sorry.

I've felt broody since I was 13. That is Broody as in 'wanna copulate with anything that moves non-stop'.

yep I did

when my my wife and I decided to start a family I got this kind of light headed, buzzy feeling whenever I was near a newborn. Very odd!

Obvious after almost 4 years of nappies, shit, vomit, mucus and no sleep the light headed and buzzy feeling has disappeared. 🙂

I never had anywhere near that feeling. Ever. I do however get a strange invisible attraction to breast feed when I look at ladies 😀

There was a programme on BBC4 last night titled the biology of dads (or something similar), which explained that dad's to be testosterone levels dropped massively so that they became instinctively more sweet natured and nurturing rather than wanting to smash small screaming things into a bloody pulp, which would be a bit of evolutionary own goal.

That's terrible! What if someone attacks your newborn? You need to be fired up and ready for trouble.

I know when the nurse came round and took some blood off ours she almost got a kick up the chuff.

The only things I can think of that move non-stop are things like celestial bodies, you're really limiting your choice there. Granted you'll never be turned down though!

C_G how very selfish of you! Have you asked your daughter what she wants?

I think it's that twins thread 50% of me wants the twins, the other half wants to have children sometime.

Yeti cross human could work out for her then?

And as far as I;ve worked out so far.... when a girl says she wants puppies or kittens she means babies, which to date has meant jump ship for me.

oh don't get me wrong, however warm and buzzy I might have been, when i went in to visit my missus and first newborn someone had put a huge thingamajiggy in his hand so they could draw blood etc etc. It was obviously hurting him. 👿 angry? i'd never felt that kind of rage before.

Yes, I definitely feel broody when I'm with babies or small children. I'd have like more kids, still would, but Mrs M is a few years too old now. Either that or I'm firing blanks.

But if a broody 30-something woman came my way, who knows?

Hmmmm, sounds as though the Solstice has had quite an effect on people. Some reflective stuff going on in threads, some touchy feely. Perhaps folk are feeling uncomfortable about less daylight etc.

Eh? You're suggesting that the coming reduction in length of day is triggering people to want children? How does that work?

I would suggest that the Solstice can be a time of mixed emotion for people.

[s]Of course I do not include myself in this random study[/s]

(Crawls back to Neolithic chamber).

Does anyone actually make mental note that it is the solstice? Or is this some sort of subconscious lay-line based thing where everyone is affected but doesn't know it yet?

Not me then. If I turned round I could knock over a vase and if anyone says one more time 'hey you look tired today' I'll rip off their heads and pee down their throat!

That's a bit harsh, that wasn't the meaning I was trying to convey! It was a mildly sarcastic questioning of the reasons, not an outright dismissal. Don't log off, the real world is far nastier!

OK, nobody is immune to the marching of time and that can include the subconscious. I'm an old hippie and believe that events like the Summer/Winter Solstice does affect people and their emotions.

From my perspective, half-way through the year just means some situations haven't changed and that frustrates me. We are all at different points in our lives facing different but very real issues that we are not always able to determine the outcome of.

FWIW I am in the real world and sometimes wish I wasn't!

More gibberish from C_G 🙄

I felt broody since I was a child but other peoples kids have never made me feel broody the way women seem to. (I don't think most of them actually are either.. they're all just conditioned to lie at certain moments)
