Following on from my "what LCD tv" thread, I am thinking of buying a Toshiba but I always get pangs of guilt about buying things like this. I have the money, but it just seems a bit frivolous as I already have a 26" CRT widescreen tv that works fine, although it has features that annoy the hell out of me.

Anyone else get this?

If you can afford it, do it.

Says the person who just bought three Jogglers. Poor man's Sonos!

It's people with your stingy attitude that are causing the recession by not buying stuff and putting hard working folks out of a job.

Your new LCD will support HD (which is a must).

I doubt your existing CRT will.

Welcome to my head ernie.

Why is HD a must? I don't subscribe to any HD channels.

500-700 quid seems to get you up to a 50" telly on offer at a few retailers ...a few years ago that would have been quite a few grand... I have an old 26 LCD that I am tempted to upgrade especially as the new ones are all HD with built in Freeview
