Sole and leather upper have started to separate On the toe of a pair of shoes.
Any recommendations of glue to repair?

I've used E6000 plus before with good results...
Shoe goo, repaired a set of my kids shoes (when they ripped a sole off after 3 weeks) the shoe has now been worn out, completely. Repair lasted two years pretty much.
Have also repaired a heavy duty tarp (trailer cover) and a couple of pairs of cycling shoes.
Shoe goo but make sure you properly clean any bits

Is there a reason why Super Glue should not be used? I have a pair of trainers which I use for spin classes where the sole and the upper are coming apart and I was planning to use Super Glue to try and fix them.

I think cos it's pretty brittle, and you need something with some flex in it cos shoes are, er, flexy
Exactly, acrylate is a rigid, brittle, bond.
@Murray, thanks for the tip, my daughter destroys tap shoes and I have tried all sorts to glue the plates back on.
Son has orthotic raise so have spent more time repairing/ regluing soles on.
Contact adhesive is the answer.

Treat it similar to tube repair, clean and scuff mating surface with sandpaper apply adhesive to both surfaces then wait 3-5mins don't press together yet.
When adhesive is gelling (less runny) squeeze together.
I used to then use tape to keep pressure on the join over night and put the shoe on the radiator.

E6000 is very like shoe goo and usually cheaper
I used stormsure after a similar thread on here earlier in the year
I've used Stormsure for all kinds of repairs now including fixing holes in the soles of Fivetens and repairing the uppers on some Goretex walking boots.
Really didn't think it'd work or last very long in either of those applications but it's still going strong 12 months later.
I've tried Shoegoo several times before and it's never lasted.
