I'd like a winter first please. Rather enjoy dry crisp cold frosty days. Don't seem to get many of them these days though down south, just mild incessant drizzle 🙁

Do you think we should contrive some story to make it seem more worthy a celebration - I'm thinking young couple, skint, pushed about by government, then they have a baby and some people are nice to them. Then the lad turns out to be quite good at stuff??

Worst and coldest weather is often about 6 weeks after the shortest day as the planet is still cooling .I usually get cold birthday rides at the start of February

I like this thread too, but I count the day (usually the 3rd or 4th February) when the sun is high enough that the shadow from the neighbours roof totally misses my solar panels - that's when I know winter is exiting left.
