Confused as to what the point was. However, YEY Shaun Palmer!

I'm assuming it's going to lead to another video with him on a new bike with Intense..if not...I'm even more confused.

That was the most cringeworthy promo video of all time. Surely he's not coming back to racing?

That would be good. Anythings possible with Mr Palmer.

He's 48 and fat. Probably coming back for enduro

Not when he's as fat as that it isn't. I'm with Scruff, guessing he's become a 'brand ambassador' or some such for Intense, though sadly he's like the old guy in the corner of the bar, dwelling on the past rather than the bright spark he was 18 years ago.

I see he got his tattoos when he was drunk in mexico by a lady called Juanita who was high on crack at the time.

If he is overweight he'd better not ride the Intense bikes or they will crack. Thin mincers only please.

And this.

Legends are good for the sport. It would be really nice to see Intense back up there competing at the sharp end of DH. Such an iconic brand.

I guess thats the thinking behind it, however Peaty has been at the sharp end of the sport for the last 20 odd years and mentoring and developing riders for 10+. When was that last time Palmer rode a bike competitively?

I'm sure he did some WC races about 3 or 4 years ago?

Its just marketing, Intense have had $ pumped in and they now need to sell more. If it was about grass roots training for young DHers / Enduroerers etc then shirley Chris Kovarick would be better as hes an Intense rider and is an actual professional trainer.

Whatever way you look at him he's a born racer, he's getting intense column inches, and hopefully he'll help pull through the next generation of riders like Peaty has done.
Keeping legends like Peat / Palmer / Gracia / Lopes involved can only be good for the sport, I'd love to have him fire me up before a run!

Marketing is why any factory team races, really.

I think it might just be a case that they now believe the extra capital gives them a change of making a decent fist of competing with the other big factory-backed teams.

Hands up anyone who didn't know Palmer was "****ed in the head" anyway.

It seems he is over the past by still dwelling on it, which is sad.

Good luck, I hope he does get shot of his demons.

Amazing how .15 seconds can have such a massive effect on someones life.

re reading my posts, it seems that im Anti Palmer, I'm not, I just think it's a shame that he's turning into an Elvis type (cadillacs and all) rather than a Kurt Cobain type (without the shotgun issues)

Palmer is a legend! Great to have him back involved in the sport.

Such a shame he narrowly missed out on 2 x Winter Olympics qualifications

He might be a legend in snowboarding, but not for me in mtbing. Comapring him to Peaty in my book is insulting to the hard work (physically and mentally) Peaty has put in to get where he is now. Peaty is a proper Pro who knows what hard work takes and has used that to good effect to help others. I don't see Palmer doing that, he's just at Intense for publicity and I'm sure in their home market it will work.
