Wayyyy OT

I've got some global knives for general cooking which I love, but my carving knife is a crappy cheap thing that won't hold an edge for more than about 2 cuts through soft meat!

So... stick with global, or get something else?

Matching fork would be nice too, just because I'm a tart 🙂

For great value I'd check out your nearest TK Maxx. I picked up a cracking knife and steel there for a fraction of it's true cost and there were plenty of others.

FWIW the global carving knife and fork are excellent.

How much carving do you do? I just use a chef's knife; I use it for nearly everything.

The only others I have are a cleaver for chopping though bones & a bread knife for, well, bread.
