Quick question... if I open a Google Music account using a 'spare' generic family Google account I have, and upload all our music (all in iTunes probably) can the whole family stream this music using their phones/tablets?

I think so. I've got it and the wife and brother-in-law both use it with no hitches. I think it allows 10 devices or something.
