Have Monster Munch become smaller? Had a packet last night and I was struck by the small size. Holding one in my hand made me feel like Andre the Giant holding what I remember as a normal sized Monster Munch. The second moment of befuddlement came when I ate said Monster Munch and didn't feel like my taste buds had been ravaged by a vengeful pickled onion. The third and final kick in my metaphorical balls came from the fact there were only five and a bit of these tiny, tasteless Monster Munch in the bag

WTF is the world coming to. Trump, Musk and a wrecked climate I can just about handle. Tiny, tasteless Monster Munch is the final ****ing straw.

Yet despite food servings shrinking, my waistline has gone the opposite way. Double bastards.

Monster Munch were shrunk when I was a kid, possibly early 90's?

I remember someone saying it was to make them easier to eat because they were so big and knobbly.

Still love the pickled onion ones, haven't had any for years.

"Standard" bags of crisps are so disappointing nowadays.

I've upped the ante and have started buying much bigger bags to satisfy that crunchy urge.

Current favourite are Properchips

https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/properchips-sharing-barbecue-85g

They do a few flavours and have recently stumbled upon prawn cocktail - mmmmm.

Apparently Creme Eggs are the same size they've always been.

The person who decided they should come in a box of five will be first against the wall come the revolution though!

I noticed this years ago. I think it's similar to overfishing, all the older monsters have been eaten so only the younger ones are remaining in the wild. The hunts need to be regulated somehow. In some countries they also chop their feet of when they catch them and then throw them back into the forest ☹️

They’ve shrunk the ‘standard’ ones so they can upsell you. Just go with it….

Precisely why I stopped buying them ages ago. Totally unsustainable. The reason they're so small now is because they're factory farmed monsters.

We don't eat monster much(!) but when we do we buy free range monsters and use all of the parts. Mrs Reeksy makes a mean Monster Mash.

Bloody hell! So it is like KFC! Factory farmed Monsters trapped in tiny cages. This should be headline news. I'm boycotting Monster Munch and sticking with Space Raiders

I think it was Ben Elton way back in the 1980s or 90s who argued, "It's expensive but don't you get a lot, look at the size of the bag, don't you get a lot. Don't you get a lot... of air."

"Contents may settle in transit" is up there as great lies of our time along with "of course I love you," "the taxi is just around the corner," and "I won't [arrive] in your mouth."

How long are your arms? Were you wearing your glasses?
