Some background reading:

https://www.paypal-marketing.co.uk/safetyadvice/PaymentHoldsForEbayItems.htm

So, i've not sold enough on ebay or whatever, so it seems likely if I try sell my frames on ebay my payment might get held. I trust PP as far as I can throw them, so in the event they hold my money anyone know if I can issue a refund and cancel the sale instead? And include a condition in my ad "if paypal are tits, I'll cancel and refund" - I guess ebay won't like this, as it's all about buyer protection etc... but too many horror stories about paypal to trust them with a wedge of my money.

Hmmm.

*Continues debating if ebay's more hassle than it's worth*

hmm never seen that before, never looked for it though to be honest, a line along the lines of "item will be posted once payment has cleared into my account" should do it, add it to the payment details to, it then becomes part of the contract/requirements of sale

Hmm tho from a buyer POV their money has gone and they have no item...they either have to wait 21 days or leave feedback before getting the item...I'd not be up for that nonsense as a buyer. Mind, I'm not as a seller either.

Hence my question if I could refund the money in this case...

Doesn't help that you don't know if PP will do this, they basically say "we reserve the right to be tits with your cash"

paypal are a law unto themselves, stealing money from your account when a buyer hasn't received there item, despite providing proof that they signed for it.

I agree from a buyers POV it's not good, but if it did happen a quick mail to the buyer offering a refund, if it's available or letting them know you're not willing to post the item until the money has cleared into your account (as per the advert details) should put things straight.

TBH though I think you're worrying about nothing as mentioned I've never actually had this problem & don't know of anyone personally that has. There's always a first time though

This is my thinking too - hence the original question is a refund actually possible?

I don't know anyone to personally hit this issue either, but sods law and all that...
