I have just created an inventory of a huge amount of surplus stuff iv been hoarding - some for almost decades!

Iv got frames, forks, cranks, wheels, hubs, brakes, gearing and more. Covering current, classic, retro, rare, brand new, used and some stuff free to a good home.

Question is should I just dump the whole list on the for sale forum and see what happens or break it up into category's? and drip feed it? Truth be told I just want to move everything on as its a shame a lot of it isn't being used and deserves to see use because it wont be in my ownership to be honest! - not to mention the space it all takes up!

What is the general consensus do people enjoy browsing through a long list of stuff or does it almost annoy you guys?

As far as STW classifieds go, multiple individual sales posts is verboten.  You're allowed two For Sale posts on the front page or they'll all be deleted.

Granted this is slightly skewed at the moment as classifieds are currently bump-able, and we're trying not to penalise people for that.

Yeah I realise the forum have evolved in the aim of fairness and hogging the whole front page with loads of individual ads is not right, but what I really meant is how do people feel about one ad with like 50 items listed. I don't mind dedicating time to organizing and staying on top of the requests, messages, pecking order ect. Just does having a massive list turn people off looking through or otherwise?

I always try and keep them in sensible blobs, like "Loads of tyres" or "lots of 26 inch stuff" or whatever. I always find the massive clearout threads hard to read and if the first few items aren't interesting or seem lower grade I'll usually not bother. So I guess what I'm saying is, I'd keep it tighter and more approachable and if that means doing a few threads over a space of time, so be it

Northwind that's what I was thinking. Information overload could come into play and the real gems among the list might not shine because of that. Cheers. Sensible blobs it is!

can you not do a spreadsheet with a google link so folk could see what you you have?

People can check that out then do as NW says keeping the link in each new thread?

I would be interested in 26 er stuff and straight steerer forks for example
