Can anyone recommend a villa in a nice area of Tenerife? Must be able to sleep at least 4, have it's own pool and have air con. Sick of looking at websites for shiny fronting companies. Any lesser known gems out there? Looking to go at the end of May.

Was looking at La Caleta, but I've never been so any recommendations on other areas would be ace. Taking elderly parents so restaurants, bars, nice walks and relaxing rather than climbing and mountain biking.

La Caleta is very nice and has one of the best fish restaurants in the south but can be a little too close to the main resorts for some people to stomach.
You may want to look a little further afield though - El Roque, San Miguel, Adeje are all Canarian towns with plenty of private villas in them but are away from the tourist gash.
If you like it "greener" then Tacoronte, Puerto de la Cruz, El Tablo are all in the north of the island and far from the "package holiday" lot.

Try ownersdirect. Rent somewhere direct from the owner. We've rented two places in Tenerife through the site and they've both been great. I'd look around Icod de los Vinos if you want to be away from the main tourist bit but still with plenty in walking distance.

Nice and green round that area
