Looking to holiday somewhere near Kirroughtree next summer, looking for tips on somewhere to book, thinking cottages, lodges, possibly caravans.

Needs to securely hold 2 adults, 2 kids and 4 bikes. Prefer to be Dalbeattie side if possible to reduce the journey time.

Any recommendations?

There are some brilliant log cabins within a very short ride from the trail head.... think this might be it, just off the main road...

Have a look at Castle Cary holiday park in Creetown, i've stayed there in a caravan, they have log cabins too and it's easy to cycle to Kirroughtree from.

We stayed in a static caravan at Seaward for the bank holiday weekend a couple of years ago here - http://www.gillespie-leisure.co.uk

The site had a wee pool and playground which suited our 2 at the time. Easy access to the SW stanes and some nice coast for paddling / walks.
