I know there's some cartography nerds out there (I'm looking at you Scotroutes)

Asides from bog standard road/touring maps of Scotland. Does anyone know where I can get a high quality, large (maybe 1.5m to 2m tall)map of Scotland with minimal information printed onto it. At most maybe councils and principle cities?

Kind Regards
Destroyer of Pies

Do it properly, build one out of concrete in your garden.

What you want to do is, get a hundred metre tall map of the UK, in weather forcast style. That way you'll get a map of Scotland about 2 metres tall.

You could knock one up as two A0 sheets using Quantum GIS and the OSM layer as a web service.
You'd then need to get the sheets printed at a local reprographics place.

Or you could get a vector file - something like this http://www.dreamstime.com/stock-photography-scotland-map-highly-detailed-vector-administrative-regions-main-cities-roads-image36015012

And create a couple of A0 powerpoint slides to do the same thing

Ooh, that looks handy. Thanks, wemay well get something printing specifically for the task. So could be a winner if I find the right image. Vector graphics are fine.

@lemony - that's excellent (#11 Edinburgh - basically England ๐Ÿ™‚ )

@hilldodger, in the UK we count votes by number not by land area.
