Have a few hrs in between flights to kill there, is it worth booking into the servisair lounge or just rough it with the "normal people"?

Who are you flying with ?

The klm lounge is good if your fying with them know anyone flying with you with a silver fliers or oilworkers card ? Can get in for free

Other than that unless your long haul and want a shower there is plenty to do in the main terminal to pass 2/3 hours and a couple of bars nd some food to wile away another few.

Schiphol is quite nice. Spent a few hours there before with no problems.

If you can't blag your way into the KLM lounge there's a quiet area with recliners upstairs near the lounge where you can catch a few ZZZs. Close by there's a small gallery, an offshoot of the Rijksmuseum, where you can get close up to some of the most valuable Dutch masterpieces in, er, the world. Even if you're not interested in art it's worth five minutes because the colours and the detail are absolutely stunning.

Last time I flew through Schiphol it was easy to waste away 4 hours with the rest of the commoners until the flight back to Aberdeen.

How's the leg now post splinter removal?

As others have said its a big airport with a fair bit to do - the mini-Rijksmuseum is good and I've never found it too hard to waste 2-3 hours at Schiphol even when 'slumming' it.

I must have a very low boredom threashold then, I shall probably have 3 hours there on Thursday, the mini-Rijks will take up 15 minutes at most, a walk the length of the place will take up half an hour. The shopping is shite as it's all more expensive than you can get things in this country/the internet.

Take a book, get a meal at the place upstairs at the end near the D gates and then go and find a comfortable chair that doesn't have kids bouncing around near by.

I was once told that if you can get near to the KLM lounge that you can use the wifi if you know the code; I think it used to be the current date šŸ™‚ Failing that, you can always get a McWifi

Don't waste your money, just find the gate you are flying out of and then find the best place to eat between that and whatever was the last 'custom' gate.

I did 11 hours there once. Woke up with a police officer poking me in the mouth with a large gun, saying "you cannot schleep here!"

They have stupid tables with curved tops in the non-KLM lounge (whichever one Lufthansa use - prolly Servisair). And automatic dispensing beer taps - that's entertaining to watch šŸ˜‰

WiFis were 30mins free, but I forget the password. Even still, at 18:00 on a work day evening it was so busy there wasn't a hope in hell's chance of a usable connection.

Yes, camp outside the lounge and you can use the wi-fi, and yes, it's KLM and today's date.

Isn't there an exotic dvd shop somewhere in the airport? Always used to be...
