Steam has a sale on at the moment, with Dead Space on special ($5). I previously bought Dead Space, and sold it within about a week after shrieking like a little girl for about 3 nights. But I still need closure so I can say 'done it, don't need to do it again'.

So, to buy or not, that is the question?

How scary can it be?

Bioshock 2 tried to scare me, it only succeeded in boring me - and I am as soft as they come.

What's that recent one that's post-apocalyptic, was on PSN store as a demo. All the reviews said it was pretty harrowing.

dead space is a great game.i was rubbish at playing it though 😳 i do plan on trying again sometime (when i can afford another 360).

i loved the part where you are exploring one of the toilets (for health e.t.c) early in the game, and you hear whispering coming from the sink plughole 😯 awesome lighting/shadows too 😀

I haven't played the first Dead Space, but I have played Dead Space II quite a bit.

It's not a game.

It's traumatising.

It's brilliant.

And that part isn't even pitch black with things you thought were dead jumping up and ripping your throat out. Video probably NSFW btw.

Buy 1 & 2. Really loved them, scared the crap out of me and even better Dead Space 3 is out in March 2013. 😀

get it! the sense of achievement at completing it without needing to change your pants makes it all worth it, then repeat with the second one 😛

I didnt find the first one too bad, as after a while you learn to chuck things at bodies to make sure they're dead and to stay away from anything resembling a vent. Those tentacles though... 😯

The above part of dead space 2 shock me up as well, and the hallucinations, they were the worst part of either game!

If you want a properly scary game, try Slender 😯

When I first played Dead Space I thought it was pretty rubbish so sold it quickly.

Then I got given a copy with a second hand Xbox so tried it again...with headphones. Adds a whole extra dimension to it.

The voices 😯

Amnesia: Dark Descent is supposed to be rather scary too, havnt played it myself but it looks good.

Amnesia is quite scary. I like Penumbra Overture as well from what I've played of it. Try Slender though, it's terrifying especially with the new updated fog, random flashes and and music 🙁

Try playing it with the sound off. That's what I do with scary films. Watching from behind the couch helps too.
