I know, I know, if you have to ask and all that...

Their website appears a bit sparse as well...

[i]Hello,

We're a marketing company working in corporate names and domain names. We're working on a project and would like to put something together to bring to the Iveco company. We're interested in your domain name "ivecoforums.com" so I'm seeing if you might be willing to transfer it to us. We're looking for something economical. Transferring and making payment is easy if you use Sedo or escrow.com and I'm happy to help. We're working on a number of names so we need to know about yours as soon as possible.

I hope to hear from you soon and perhaps we can work something out.

Best,

Robin

Looks fine to me, better English than you can find on here, almost too good.

I had similar email - and £500 better off now, thanks to Travis Perkins via an intermediary....

The rule thumb is that anyone start an email with "Hello" ... you should say goodbye or delete it.

Be careful. There have been some rulings that have judged that, where a domain registrant has agreed to accept payment for a domain-name transfer, the registrant was "cybersquatting" and awaiting the "true" IP holder to cough up. Has resulted in some domains being reassigned to their "rightful owners".

Might not be that but be canny all the same. I'd ask that they give you an assurance in writing that you won't be ripped off. Not sure that would do any good though.
