You're kidding right? Unbelievably quick up and down. I know STW is full of supergnar dudes who descend like gods, laughing in the face of XC jeyboys, but this guy was super super fast. Much respect.
He obviously doesn't spend enough time logging onto STW and sitting around eating cake and getting fat then - perhaps we should get him a subscription? 😆
Fast XC people are fast up, along and down, and they do it all with 100mm travel, skinny tyres and lycra instead of body armour.

Imagine where he'd have finished if he'd have been on a 650B!!!
Parts of the Pietermaritzburg course I'd think twice about doing on 140mm fs but they were flying down it, mostly on hardtails...
I once overtook him on a warm up lap at the Eastern Regional Champs - he then promptly won the Elite class by a mile whereas I came 5th in Sport 😉 Even more impressive was it was a muddy course, he rode it on semi-slicks and didn't have a speck of mud on him at the end - too fast to get splashed...
last time I saw him he lapped me on a 7 mile loop of the Malverns!
Never seen anyone climb the Malverns as quick as he did!
