Gulp. In charge/alone whilst the covenent of evil ladies and their broom sticks are at the Sex and the City film...
Watched this before and of course I liked it.
Watching it tonight and, well. Hmph, how can I explain it? Its soo subtle, soo 'good' isn't it?
First time yes- good film. Second time- ****. Wow.
It's a good film. And she is a delightful actress.
Saw it at the cinema, watched it on DVD, but not for a while; must admit, tho', it's an utterly wonderful film, and I would give my soul to have Audrey Tatou in my life.
So good we named our daughter Amelie!
It makes you feel good which is always a bonus.
Our friends named their daughters Amelie and Audrey. Very visual/creative-types.
Funny how you can skim the surface of a film, almost read the jacket and like it then on the next viewing you are deep into the film itself, love the cafe characters and their own little angst/neurosis/stories..
lovely film.
(We watched 'Diva' last night, if you like a good french movie, highly recommended)
That was my next question. Thank you.
I could not name a child Audrey.
"FEED ME SEYMOUR! FEED ME NOW!"
Actually, perhaps it's appropriate...
Fantastic film.
Those garden gnomes. The mystery person in the photo booths. Utterly brilliant.
But I always worry seeing them at the end without crash helmets.
A beautiful mesmerising film 🙂
<sad bastard> The first time i watched it i fell in love with Amelie and about 9 years on every relationship i've had since sort of feels like im settling for second best if im not going out with someone who not only looks like Audrey Tautou but also has the personality of Amelie. I do realise im being absolutely nuts about this but I cant help it - The scariest thing is that if Audrey Tautou was to turn up at my door this minute i'd be pretty excited but after a few days i'd be disappointed she wasnt making plum cake with me, skimming stones or wanting a ride on my moped. (Not that i actually have a moped, i maybe in love with a fictional character, but i've not fallen that far yet!)
My girlfriend thinks i'm joking when i say it is only her and Amelie Poulain for me...but in truth she comes a distant second. </sad bastard>
Audrey Tatou is amazing. My partner is expecting at the moment and we did discuss the name Amelie if it was a girl, but we were put off by the fact our son pronounced it as Emily.
Recommend MicMacs, watched it the other night, same director as Amelie.
Omar - that's really touching, not at all sad-muppety. Just about every guy I know who's seen the film has fallen for the Amelie character. But how many admit it? I bet girls love it when you tell them that too.
WOMEN, PAY ATTENTION - please your men by emulating Amelie!
[expecting soul-less robot forum denizens to attack this thread at any moment]
What is is with blokes and nutty french birds ? I remember when you were all slavering over Betty Blue. Och well, at least Amelie just got on with some low level stalking, rather than carving her own eye out in the bathroom mirror.
A good friend of mine (French) and actually looks like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tifanny's- great girl but I have know her too long so see her more as a sister 🙁 and 🙂
So good we named our daughter Amelie!
Thinking of doing the same (should she be female) ...fantasic film too!
