A friend is thinking of taking a sales job, but having never done this kind of work before, they are unsure of what standard practice is re payment go bonuses. The proposal is this
sales contract signed in January, work done and payment made in February, bonus to be paid in March pay packet.
Does that sound reasonable?

Yep.

Some places (mine) have quarterly based target, so will pay you a % of OTE for the first 2 months then make any adjustments after the 3rd month.

Sometime there is a clause that the Sales guy gets paid when the company get paid, so if the customer is x months late paying, the commission is deferred....
