He wrote some great stuff. Merry Chrstmas Mr Lawrence is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. I prefer this version.

I was lucky enough to see him at the Hammersmith Odeon 30+ years ago when he was promoting the Beauty album. One if the absolute best gigs of my life. David Sylvian came on and sang Forbidden Colours and the Okinawan(sp?) trio did some traditional pieces.
