Passed my fitness test yesterday to get into the Royal Navy as a specialist. I have booked my formal interview now, It all seems its going well from this point despite no employment.

So time to hit the gym and get rid of all this weight and get some decent muscles!

(Sorry for those of you that thought this was about Rum)

It's all rum, sodomy and the lash. Which ones are you training for?

See, the problem with the navy for me is the rum. Everyone knows navy rum and the rest of that dark nasty muck you get cheap in the supermarket is inferior to proper nice carribean or cuban golden rum. Despite this, it is still more expensive and harder to find decent rum. Given that we, as a nation have not been in a proper naval battle for about 30 years, shouldn't we be using at least some of our ships and submarines to import masses of quality rum? Also limes, we need fresh limes.

Well done so far. Don't spend too much time in the gym, do aerobic and endurance work also, time for running and swimming. When you get through the rest of selection it will serve you well if you have a good overall fitness level, you'd be surprised how unfit some entrants are and how much pressure they will be under.

Good luck

If you are serious about getting fit give these guys a go.

The training is exactly the same as the part one PT at Raleigh, I know a few lads who went onto the Royal Marines and have said BMF was a good intro into the military aspect on getting fit and staying fit.

I know a lot of people in the navy. I wouldn't say you have to be that fit...
