Company I work for is proposing a four year deal, with effect from July, in which each year our salaries will increase based on CPI. Our previous deals have been for 3 years. Firm has about 4000 employees with just under half on a different contract and currently on a 3 year pay deal (due to end in May 2015) whose salary increases have been linked to RPI. Consequently I am outnumbered by staff (within my team) on this RPI linked pay deal. Doesn't half irk as they tend to gloat over this issue so I've applied for a new role to move away from this team into a team where all the staff happen to be on the same contract as myself. It is also a promotion if I get it and a more interesting role anyway.

I personally would like it if the unions had negotiated a shorter pay deal to end in May 2015 with our salaries increased from July 2014 to May 2015 based on CPI at which point the other half of the employees would be due to have their pay deals negotiated and then the two different halves could have pay deals negotiated at the same time and prevent any disparity in pay deals.

The pay deal is being put to the vote and I'm likely to vote No. Help me make my mind up please. I'm aware lot's of companies aren't paying bonuses at all and this is what the union reps keep saying as they're encouraging us to take this deal.
