Is there anything else that does the job and is cheaper. Looking for something cheap ish to fill the rainy summer and childcare days. Second hand concept 2s are still too much for me!

Plenty that are cheaper but you can't get spares for them. The computer is a great bit of equipment and tend to dictate the price so go for an older model or one with a broken computer so you can replace it later when you have the funds.
Keep looking and watch out for ones listed on eBay toward the end if the month and make a cheeky offer. I picked my Model D with a PM4 computer cheap with a cheeky offer because the seller was skint and I could collect and pay cash that night.
