Fruit - and whatever his SO was called. Last post was, I think, aimed at On One.

Did he come back with a SuperstarComponents userid?

What about the spider guy? Haven’t seen anything from him for a while - unless a spider ate him?

Fruit has been on here since before time. He told me to sign up in what would have been 2004 ish. When he got me back into riding at Uni. He's had many guises. But yes he is the owner of SSC so posts under their name occasionally.

Now seems an oportune moment to ask..aracer and junkyard, I kinda assumed they were the same character with 2 log ins? They always appeared on same threads, both held exactly the same views and backed each other up constantly, and their assertion that they were always correct on any subject known to man was borderline comical.

I've met them both too, but not at the same time. 🙂
Both very interesting people.

Simon, (Muddydwarf) is an exceptionally nice bloke. I hope he's ok.

Rachel is still very active on Twitter. Awesome person. Very dry sense of humour.

I hear from Hora every. single. day. He's doing ok.

Smee/glupton/TZF was always good for a laugh. I think he is "better" now he has escaped from his wife. I've met him a couple of times and we're connected on Facebook. He is very into long-distance running now - GGW, WHW etc.

Holy smokes! That ten year old thread is a helpful link! Some of the names of there bring back memories.

But anyway, what happened to ernie_lynch?

I got to sit out for a week because of Jamba, if he didn’t report it who did

That's not how it works. I've no idea what you're referring to but if you got a week off then it would have been because of something you did. Warnings and bans don't require a reported posts, rather it's helpful when we have them.

Ooh is that a threat? Stay classy Drac, stay classy.

I doubt that that was the case, but now that you come to shine a light under the bushel I'm genuinely surprised that someone hasn't banned you yet. You've done rather well thus far so I wouldn't crow too loudly if I were you.

(... also not a threat, just a gentle nudge to wind it in.)

Ernie still pops up occasionally. I think he just got tired of arguing with all the "black is white", no "white is black" bollox on the politics threads

I’ve met them both. At the same time.

So have I, & so have you TJ. Minigaff weekend with Ton.
Junkyard, the Angry Vegan.

Ton's champion BTW, still a diesel engine on a bike. Chug chug chug...another 50 miles...chug chug chug...(& that's just the beer stops). He's an animal!

Speaking of peters, what about peterpoddy, the motorcyclist from somewhere south?

Last met him and his wife on a #JENNRIDE near Stroud, IIRC they were moving north possibly Yorkshire or Cumbria?

Or quite a dickhead depending on your outlook. Fortunately that site uses a forum designed this century so it's easy to block those you don't wish to see.

Nobody cares about geex.

I miss him. He was entertaining.

I genuinely believe the way I ride on the roads ie. wheelying, manualling, hopping kerbs, playing around and most important of all smiling and making eye contact with, thanking and greeting pedestrians and drivers when passing raises my image out of the “cyclist” group stereotype and humanises me more to onlookers.
It definitely gets me compliments and smiles back.
I don’t consider myself a cyclist. Just someone who loves riding bikes and does it a lot.
On my commute each way I jump 19 red lights, ride 4 pavements and hop on and off a few more and on the way in I ride one quiet one way street (Lane) the wrong way.
All of the above is done safely. No one is ever in danger from my actions and no one is inconvenienced in the slightest.
blindly obeying the law when the law is stupid, ill thought out and actually more dangerous than not obeying it.
Cycle lane planning is a complete joke here and quite a few are just plain dangerous if you stick to the advised cycle lanes/filters etc.

Hope he's still setting people straight over there.

Why do these threads always predominantly throw up the troubled individuals? It's the squeaky wheels that get the grease I suppose.

And the female posters...They get a mention on these threads. Rachel, Emsz, etc. They all tend to leave as well.

Poddy moved to Yorkshire and changed career.

TheSouthernYeti is still putting in huge miles on a road bike in the flatlands of the Thames Valley.

iDave is also putting in massive miles and making me feel jealous.

Fred is doing well, talking much bollocks and starting arguments as usual - just not on here 🙂

As was DD

Guessing Al might be on mleh, I don't post there any more, it's too cliquey and I got even more grief on there than I do here 😂

What's happening with Al Shaw from Garage Bikes, Morley? He was never a big poster on here, even before garagebikes, but a lovely bloke, and stalwart of BadBrains Tuesday and Sunday pootles, where I used to be DonnyDave.

Still riding, still a lovely bloke.

Garage bikes is no more though, sadly.

I often wonder what Diz/dizinaustria is up to these days.

I spent a week riding with her around Kaprun years and years ago, still some of the best trails I’ve ever ridden.

As a recent returnee myself, I can still see some of the old names are here, and hasn’t changed that much. Quite reassuring really!

Was Hora chucked off or did he ban himself? He seemed to live to talk about bikes (well changing them) so seeks odd for him to self eject...

A genuinely troubled guy (at the time I knew him). True story: Myself and a mate got a fake solicitor letter from him about sharing some photos of him...erm...demonstrating his ability to make keys disappear..

GeeTee1972 - Is a good friend of mine.

We met up just before the C19 lock down. He said if there was an opportunity he would like to apologise to Rachel sincerely.
He never meant to upset her. He was going through a bad personal patch and regrets the fact that his opinion caused offence. It was not intended.

Rachel (allthegear) if you're reading this, I hope you can accept his apology.

He sent them to a friend (unsolicited "sort of" dick pick) who shared them with us. She was, I think, genuinely disturbed enough by the content of the picture to ask a couple of her friends (me and another guy) for advice about what to do about it.

When he (42) realised they had gained a wider audience than he'd intended, I think he just panicked and reacted badly (hence the fake letter)

GeeTee1972 – Is a good friend of mine.

I've known him since I was seven. He is a genuine, honest guy. However, some of his sincerely-held views are not 'mainstream', and combine that with his predilection to be sucked into an argument and an inability to climb down from whatever position he's argued himself into, does not endear him to others, especially online.

But, let's be honest, all the same could be said of TJ (or at the very least, pre-massive-ban TJ)

Best advice I ever got was that a secret is something that only one person knows.
