were about to buy a T5 and want to put a bed/seats in the rear and carry passengers safely and legally, does anyone know if they have to be a crash tested type £1500-£2000 or non tested £600-£1000 ish ? its a lot of extra money . we've been recommended one by RIB which looks very well made but its £2000.00 fitted ..
thanks in advance
and i,ve just seen hora's thread , how spooky 😯
I have a mate who fits Reimo conversions on T5's and a neighbour who bought a cheaper interior. Needless to say, the fitter condemned my neighbours shiny 59-plate T5 by saying "I wouldn't put my kids in there".
You pays your money and you makes your choice, but I'd go for the TUV approved crash tested ones rather than the ones being held in by penny washers...
These guys make decent quality beds that are bolted into the proper reinforced load carrying points and are pull tested. Dead friendly + helpful too Here
Mal-ec , thanks for the link , i'll be ringing them tomorrow 😀
We had a RIB fitted in our conversion - some of the cheaper ones just didn't seem up to it. That was 3 years ago though - I think there are some decent cheaper options out there now
