So in cyclecraft it says somewhere there is no need to signal when overtaking a parked car as the driver behind you should realise/know you are not going to bunny hop the parked car, or stop behind it, also if a cyclist should signal overtaking a parked car, so should the motorist, overtaking a cyclist in front of them that they then doubly overtake.

Discuss.

Well you're not meant to do it in a car so I'd say follow the highway code like you're meant to

if your overtaking a moving object idicate, stationary usually not, although if on a semi blind bend i might do it to warn the person behind

It doesn't do any harm to signal your intentions, and it's not a major inconvenience to stick your right arm out...

no signal from me but I don't usually make sudden overtaking moves...I move out smoothly as I approach.

I don't, I just start moving out ages before said parked car so I can go in a straight line past it, so if there is anyone particularly dozy I have loads of spare room before it is full of parked car.

I'd rarely signal, I'd always check over my shoulder though to see what was coming up behind me. If it looks like an idiot doing something daft I'll do a little stab of my hand out to let them know.

That's if any cars can keep up with me, obviously.
