I once saw him absolutely steaming drunk in the Tap and Spile in Brum. Seemed like a nice bloke.

To quote Devin Townsend, "like an ostrich egg wearing a grass skirt".

Terry Nutkins was ace. You know you're getting old when your childhood heroes start shuffling off the mortal coil. ๐Ÿ™

Was it Terry that lost some fingers to a pet seal then went abit mad? I saw a documentary based on Coast/Scotland not so long ago and he came across as a top bloke. RIP.

Edit- Otter/2fingers.

I met him in Bury a few years ago when he was supporting work with local kids, really nice feller and no big ego , what a shame !

It was an Otter that had his fingers IIRC. edit- Beat me to it.

He had a very interesting life at that point in time, sharing a house with strangers and otters.

After hero-worshipping him as a nature loving child I had my moment at some service station or other on the M6 a couple of years ago. I sped up as I caught a glimpse of him walking over the car park in front of me. He held open a door for a couple of older ladies who were coming out, then casually let it shut in my face as he strolled through...never 'meet ' your heroes they say, with good reason...

Didn't one jump out of his car into moving traffic?

As a tribute, a song named after him.
Not to everyone's taste, I know, but I likes it.

Sad. I remember watching him on Animal Magic with Johnny Morris (my first ever autograph might I add) many MANY years ago.
