As a teenager in the 60's I always fancied (lusted) Marianne.   Yet another of my age group gone. I'm getting lonely.

I'll eat a mars bar put on "as tears go by" and think of her.

Given the lifestyle, making it to 78 is pretty good going

Reading girl for a while and went to the same convent as my sister. Albeit 25 years before.

I clicked wondering how long it would be before a mars bar would steam into view.

There is is. 3 posts in. Classy.

With Anita Pallenberg, Marianne was a massive influence on Jagger and Richards at the time they started making their best music. I don't think she's kept the best of health for a long time so rest in peace Marianne.

having read some of the Obits today, i'll look forward to when Mick dies and he's described as Marianne's boyfriend.

At least you’ve still got Joe Cocker for company!

Heard about it on BBC news on the way down to Bristol for a gig. As has been said, she lived an extraordinary life, but she has said some of her choices weren’t the wisest, and she has said that none of the Stones caused her any harm, they were always very sweet and kind, the same couldn’t be said of many who hung around them, or the music business in general, especially back in the 60’s, and particularly where women were concerned!
I was aware of her in the 60’s, but I was drawn to her music when she released Broken English in 79 and Strange Weather in ‘87, the damage done to her voice by years of smoking and drinking had clearly left it’s toll, but given it such amazing character.
May she walk in beauty. RIP and so long, Marianne.

I'm amazed she lasted this long.

Always liked her music.

And always felt she had been corrupted by experts.
