Sad one. He had his issues over the years. Big Wednesday was the film of my childhood.

Airwolf still remains as one of my favourite TV shows ever, and one I've not watched again on any of the million channels we have now, for fear of the memories being tainted.

Might have a watch over the weekend now.

Shame.

I'm amazed he lasted this long TBH, he's been a drug/booze addled wreck for years. Google photos of him if you want your childhood destroying.

Yeah it's quite tragic.

RIP 🙁

As well as Airwolf I'll also remember him from Hooper with Burt Reynolds.

Oh! I'm actually watching the old miniseries 'The Winds of War' with Robert Mitcham & Jan-Michael Vincent. Watched the original TV series back in the early 80s but couldn't recall. However, I have found myself drawn into watching again.

Very sad, again. Loved airwolf, it just made perfect sense to me at the time. He played Cello, so did I. Liked his zen-like demeanour, obviously well acted.

The theme tune though, I still play it this day and get inspired. Something about the 12/8 or triplet rhythm that is just great.

Apparently the chopper was so heavy with props it could barely fly.

Ah, shame that. I guess he was a sad victim of his own success. 200k per episode for Airwolf in the early 80s - and he was a good looking barsteward!

Big Wednesday is pretty much my favourite film.

Airwolf was ok though

Rip Matt Johnson - say hi to Waxer...

I don’t wanna be a star. Have my picture in magazines, have a bunch of kids looking up to me. I’m a drunk, Bear, a screw up. I just surf ’cause its good to go out and ride with your friends. I don’t even have that anymore.” – Matt Johnson

Most of them, from what I’ve read, plus alcohol. Several DUI’s, and that was before Airwolf. As far as I can see, he really wasn’t a nice individual, Airwolf was cancelled after the second season because of his on-set behaviour.
I doubt there will be much of a crowd to mourn his passing.
