Holiday is taking us here in mid-June. Will Dartmoor be the nearest good riding or is there any close by?

Cheers

You could risk the south west coast path but thats cheekier than a cheeky thing but yes Dartmoor is the only decent option.

Forget it. I have relatives out that way, and I've tried riding round there, and it's rubbish, really. Not for lack of terrain, but because anything decent is footpath, and you'll just get grief off walkers. Apparently, there is a serious problem of clifftop erosion, and biking is expressly forbidden.

I dare say there are other paths that might be ok, but I struggled to find out about anything. Everything seems to be 'walkers only', there din't even seem to be any bridleways. I dunno though, as I'm not a local, so others may have better info.

Stowe woods in Coombe Valley were cracking when I was there at Easter. Some funky Singletrack sections. I only rode the South side of the valley but apparently there were some better trails on the north side.
