I bought something from Amazon 5 months and 29 days ago. It died today, so just within the 6 months at which it is presumed to be faulty from new.

I can't find any way on the Amazon website to start the returns process or even any way to contact their customer services at all. There are no return options on the order history page.

Anybody know how please?

Customer Service on RH menu at bottom of page. Scroll down to 'Browse Help Topics', go to 'Need More Help?' in the LH menu and select 'contact us' from the submenu. Should open chat.

Go to your orders and filter by last 6 months, look for said item and select start a return.

Use chat https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/contact-us/ref=hp_201712320_socu_cu

Make a record of the order number before you start.

Nope - doesn't work for some items ordered over 2 months ago.

Don't expect anything coherent on the chat though. Just had one in which the assistant flatly contradicted what I'd been told a few days earlier.

But does for some not in the OP’s case though.

Got to be better the Currys/PCworld at the moment. Avoid them like the plague. Send wrong goods and are totally uncontactable over the phone at the moment.

Thank you. Chat didn't work on the desktop site for some reason, but does work from the mobile app (I know it's just a skin on the website, but...)

They're sending out a replacement.

I guess theres been a recent policy change. I returned a faulty car-starter-batterty-pack thing late last year and it was over a year old at the time - the option for return was easy and obvious then.
