Yes had it for a few years now, not claimed as yet. We rent about a dozen times a year

Who did you go with Kilo?

iCar seems to be the one that comes up first.

Watch out for the dodgy Spanish hire car companies who claim every last mark.

Got charged €250 excess.   3rd party insurance (axa)  stated fair wear and tear therefore not covered.

I use insurance for car hire but never had to make a claim.  4 days excess waiver from a hire co is more than the premium

IMO this is a no brainer. Costs like £30. Read the Money Saving Expert page for tips.

Yes. Worked for me when I smashed a wing mirror but took around 4 months to get the money back - no hassle just took time  - and of course I'd had 400 Swiss francs off my credit card for that time. The one I have now doesn't work for vans or hires in the UK, so take note.

I don't like to recommend insurance I've never claimed from, but I recently used Questor Insurance for car excess and the claim process was pretty painless, settled about a week from submitting paperwork . They might be on Quidco too.
