Not a cheerful subject, but when exactly does redundancy pay apply ? I keep reading about after two years employment, but is this:
Two years to the day, two full calendar years, 24 full months ?
Not in that situation yet fortunately, but prospects are not looking that good. Started at employer two years ago tomorrow so hoping to at least get something if they were to make redundancies (a weeks pay for every year of employment upto a maximum of 330 pounds?).
Don't quote me, but I believe it's after 12 months.
yup, rises to 350 quid on 25th of Jan....
have a look at the government redundancy web site, some firms may pay you more than the statutory amount, if your firms go bust youll only get the statutory minimum.
Thats all woolies staff are getting
Statutory for two years in the job is two weeks pay or so - plenty on the net about it.
Edit, I am pretty sure it is two years to the calendar day too.

This is where you can work what's due
snakebite, can you tell me where you got that nugget from as I'm being made redundant on 31 Jan so it has a real relevance.
Thanks

It would appear to come into force from 1 Feb not 25 Jan?
